IP Lookup
Features
- Inspect any public IPv4 or IPv6 address
- Provider, organization, and ASN details
- Approximate location, timezone, and postal code
- Instant self-lookup when the field is left blank
Why use this tool?
Use it whenever you need to verify what a connection or server looks like from the outside. Example: your site stopped sending email, you check the sending server's IP in this tool, and discover it sits on a residential blocklist, which explains the bounces. Example: you moved a domain to a new host and want to confirm the server's actual public IP before updating DNS.
What an IP lookup shows
Enter any public IP address, or leave the box empty to inspect your own, and you'll get the country, region, city, rough coordinates, postal code, timezone, and the organization or ISP that owns the address. This is the same data advertisers and fraud-detection systems rely on, so it's worth knowing what's visible about you.
Is my exact location exposed?
No. IP geolocation is approximate, usually accurate to the nearest city or a few kilometers, never your house. ISPs assign address blocks to regions, and geolocation databases map those blocks, which is why rural results can be a town or two off.
Why does my IP change?
Most home connections use dynamic IPs that your ISP reassigns when your modem reboots or your lease expires. Businesses and servers use static IPs that stay fixed. Mobile networks hand out a new address as you move between towers and cities.
FAQ
Can someone find my address from my IP?
Not exactly, only down to a rough area. Exact subscriber details are held by your ISP and only released with legal process.
How do I hide my IP address?
Use a VPN, Tor, or a proxy. Our guide to hiding your IP compares the options.
Is IPv6 better than IPv4 for lookups?
Both work. IPv6 addresses are longer and often identify a single device directly, while many IPv4 connections share one address behind a router.
Can I look up someone else's IP?
Yes, you can inspect any public IP address. You will see the network, provider, and approximate location, but never personal subscriber details.
What other tools do you offer?
We also provide a DNS lookup and speed checker and an internet speed test, plus guides like what an IP address reveals.
